There’s a reason why I wanted you to start here.
I bet you thought that the average age of a solo female traveler was in their 20’s. So did I! I was way off. This just goes to show you that what we think and what is real are sometimes so far apart.
One of the biggest misconceptions in the solo travel circuit is that women are less likely to travel solo. That’s hardly the case! In fact, it’s completely wrong. Check out the infographic I made to show you just how badass solo female travelers really are!
Misconception #1 - it's too dangerous
Considering that the percentage of women traveling solo is greater than men says a lot. Fear may be keeping some women from going solo, but an impressive 58% of the solo travel industry are women who are breaking the mold and taking adventures on their own.
Misconception #2 - I'm too old
Once again, let's direct your attention back to the infographic. The average age in the states is 47! You will never be too old to have new experiences and see the world.
Misconception #3 - It's too expensive
This is by far the biggest myth of them all! Traveling can be very cheap, regardless of your destination, it's just a matter of context. There are so many resources available (including us!) on the internet that are ready to share valuable information to get you traveling. You just need to do your research.
